Terms of Service
DRAFT — requires legal review before publication
This Terms of Service has not been reviewed by a lawyer and is not yet live. It contains placeholders ([Wealth Locker legal entity], [ABN]) that must be filled in, and Stefan must sign off, before this page is published or linked from the app.
The rules of using Wealth Locker — here's the short version
The full legal terms are further down the page. This is the plain-English tour.
Think of this as the house rules for your locker.
You keep ownership of your documents. We look after them, use AI to help file them, and never sell your data. In return, you keep your account secure, use the Service honestly, and pay for what you subscribe to.
Keep your account secure
You're responsible for your password and your two-factor authenticator app. Lose access to your authenticator? Contact us — we can verify it's you and reset it.
AI helps, it doesn't advise
Our AI reads your documents and fills in the details so you don't have to. It's assistance, not financial or legal advice — always check what it finds.
Billing you can control
Paid subscriptions run through Stripe and renew automatically. Upgrade, downgrade, or cancel any time from your account settings.
Closing your account
Close your account whenever you like. We deactivate it straight away, then permanently delete it, and everything in it, 30 days later. Change your mind before then? Contact support and we can restore it.
The full Terms of Service
The complete legal terms behind the summary above.
1. Introduction and acceptance
Version 2026-09-02
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and [Wealth Locker legal entity] (ABN [ABN]) ("Wealth Locker", "we", "us", or "our"), a company based in Melbourne, Victoria. They govern your use of the Wealth Locker website, web app, and related services (the "Service").
By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
These Terms work together with our Privacy Policy and Data Policy. Read them too — they explain how we handle your information. We may update these Terms from time to time; see clause 13.
2. Eligibility
- You must be 18 years or older to create an account.
- You must be able to form a legally binding contract under Australian law.
- By using the Service, you confirm you meet these requirements.
The Service is intended for use in Australia. If you access it from elsewhere, you're responsible for complying with the laws that apply where you are.
3. Your account and account security
- You're responsible for the accuracy of the information you give us and for keeping it up to date.
- You're responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity that happens under your account.
- If you turn on two-factor authentication (2FA), you're responsible for keeping access to your authenticator app or device. Losing it can lock you out of your account.
- If you lose access to your authenticator app, contact us. Once we've verified it's you, our support team can remove two-factor authentication from your account so you can sign back in and set it up again.
- Tell us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
- We may suspend an account we reasonably believe has been compromised, to protect your data.
4. Subscriptions, trials and billing
- Some features require a paid subscription. Current plans and pricing are shown at signup and in your account.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. We don't store your full card details.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before renewal.
- Free trials convert to a paid subscription at the end of the trial unless you cancel first. We'll tell you when your trial ends and what happens next.
- You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel your plan at any time from your account settings. Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep access until the end of the period you've already paid for.
- Fees aren't refundable except as required by law, including the Australian Consumer Law guarantees described in clause 12.
- We may change our fees or plans. We'll give you notice before a change affects you.
5. Financial advisers acting for clients
- Advisers can create adviser accounts to manage client documents and information on the Service.
- If you're an adviser, you must have proper authority from each client before uploading their documents or linking their locker to your account.
- You're responsible for what you upload on a client's behalf, and for complying with your own professional and regulatory obligations.
- A client can disconnect an adviser's access to their locker at any time.
- If you're a client who has linked an adviser, you're giving that adviser the access your link is scoped to. Review what you've shared in People With Access on your Profile page, and disconnect at any time if you change your mind.
- Advisers can work together in a firm on the Service. If you're an adviser in a firm, the firm's admins can view and edit the lockers of the clients you hold, and your colleagues can view them if the firm allows it. This firm access is not limited to the areas a client chose for you. The firm can move a client to another adviser in the firm, and can view the clients of an adviser whose login has been deactivated.
- If you're a client of an adviser who works in a firm, the firm has this access to your locker as well. If the firm moves you to another adviser, and you have your own login and the firm sends the notice, we tell you in the app, and by email unless you have turned off adviser emails. You can remove an adviser's access at any time in People With Access on your Profile page.
6. Acceptable use
You must not:
- use the Service for anything unlawful, fraudulent, or that infringes someone else's rights;
- upload documents you don't have the right to upload, or that belong to someone who hasn't given you permission;
- try to access another user's account or data;
- reverse-engineer, scrape, or interfere with the Service, or attempt to bypass its security controls;
- upload malicious files, or attempt to disrupt the Service for other users.
We may suspend or close an account that breaches this clause.
7. Your content and our licence to it
- You keep ownership of the documents and information you upload ("Your Content").
- You give us a limited licence to store, process, and display Your Content, and to extract data from it, solely to provide the Service to you — and, where applicable, to an adviser you've linked and that adviser's firm.
- We don't use Your Content to train third-party AI models, and we don't sell it. See our Data Policy for the full detail on how it's handled.
- You're responsible for making sure you have the right to upload Your Content and that it doesn't infringe anyone else's rights.
8. AI-generated extractions are assistance, not advice
Wealth Locker uses AI to read documents and extract details like policy numbers, coverage amounts, and dates, so you don't have to enter them by hand.
- AI extraction is assistance, not advice. It can make mistakes. Always check extracted details against your original documents before relying on them.
- Nothing on the Service is financial advice, legal advice, or a substitute for advice from a licensed professional. Insights, summaries, health checks, and AI-adviser features are general information tools, not personal recommendations.
- If you need financial or legal advice, speak to a licensed financial adviser or lawyer.
9. Privacy and data handling
We handle personal information in line with our Privacy Policy and Data Policy, which form part of these Terms. Those policies explain what we collect, how we use and protect it, who we share it with, and your rights over it. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described there.
10. Service availability
- We aim to keep the Service available, but we don't guarantee it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times.
- We may need to suspend access for maintenance, upgrades, or reasons outside our control.
- We're not liable for outages caused by third-party providers (for example, our hosting, storage, or AI providers), except to the extent the law says we can't exclude that liability.
11. Suspension, termination and account closure
- You can close (delete) your account at any time from your account settings.
- When you close your account, we deactivate it immediately, block sign-in, sign you out of every device and cancel any paid subscription.
- We permanently delete your account, and everything in it including your documents, 30 days after you close it. We count to the next midnight, Melbourne time, and show you the exact date when you close the account. Until that date you can ask Support (support@wealthlocker.com.au) to restore your account. A restored account does not bring back a cancelled subscription; you would subscribe again. After the date we can't restore it. We delete it unless the law requires us to keep something. A few records are not deleted with your account, and copies may remain in backups for a limited time. These are described in our Data Policy.
- We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, if we reasonably believe your account poses a security risk, or if required by law.
- Clauses that by their nature should survive termination — including clauses 7, 8, 12, and 14 — continue to apply after your account is closed.
12. Our liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any guarantee, right, or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law (or any other law) that can't lawfully be excluded.
To the extent the law allows us to limit our liability, and subject to those guarantees, our liability to you for loss arising from the Service is limited, at our option, to resupplying the Service or paying the cost of having the Service resupplied.
We're not liable for indirect, consequential, or special loss, including lost profits or lost data, except where the law says we can't exclude that liability.
Nothing in this clause limits our liability for death, personal injury, or fraud caused by our negligence, where the law doesn't allow that liability to be limited.
13. Changes to these Terms
- We may update these Terms from time to time — for example, to reflect new features, legal requirements, or changes to how the Service works.
- Each version carries a date, shown at the top of clause 1.
- For material changes, we'll ask you to re-accept the updated Terms through an in-app prompt before you can keep using the Service.
- Continuing to use the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia.
You and we submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria, Australia.
